What do u think about 10 000 days? Can Tool make album better than Lateralus?

10,000 days is a good album. It has some of Tool's best songs, such as Wings for Marie / 10,000 Days, or Right in Two (IMHO). But Lateralus is in my top 3 albums ever for a reason: musically and lyrically, it is tight every second of the way, and the whole album works in the order it is in (although Ticks and Leaches is somewhat different). The album feels like a journey across relevant issues of self-discovery and communication, and the arrangements are just gorgeous. 10,000 days is good, but not as tight. Most importantly, the lyrics aren't quite what they were for Lateralus.

Lateralus is the kind of album a band can only make once. I have a hard time imagining how they could do better.

Tough desision to take between these 2 actually. I could say Lateralus is more of the psychological side of human spirit, while 10,000 days is more of the sensitive and depressed side of human spirit. Both are my personal favourits alboums.

I agree. For me Lateralus is one of the best albums ever, but 10 000 days has its own quality...

"10 000 Days" is one of the best albums in the history of modern music and Lateralus, too. But Tool is a fabulous band and I don't think we can deceide between 10 000 Days/Lateralus/Aenima :D

Oh I love Lateralus because of the lyrics and the mathematical relationships *cuz I'm a science geek* in the song Lateralus, and the jungian philosophy alutions in Parabola... but 10000 days is unexpected, goes from one side to the other of human emotion, the sides I love of course: anger and anguish from The pot to Right in two (that song is so amazing). I would still mention AEnima as the album to beat, there's not a song in that album that doesnt leave me thinking about the spiral, the anima, the shadow... after readin Carl Gustav Jung's onyric interpretations you can't but be amazed by these guys' talent. Dont stop being geniuses, Danny, Justin, Adam, Maynard...my heroes forever.

i couldn´t say wich album´s better couse both has it´s own qualities.I do prefer Lateralus, maybe couse of the musically reason.I don´t have to mention the lyrics.....it´s insane.....how can they be so good.It´s beyond humanity.You just can´t think in one way about it, there is always something that pulls you on the other side.....don´t know what elese to say.
